Conditions I specialize in treating:

In an official report, Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials, the World Health Organization (WHO) has listed the following symptoms, diseases and conditions that have been shown through controlled trials to be treated effectively by acupuncture:

The above list is absolute concerning acupuncture's effectiveness; however the report continues with three more categories:

  1. Diseases, symptoms and conditions for which the therapeutic effect of acupuncture has been shown, but further proof is needed (68 specific conditions). These conditions are effectively treated as in the first category; it’s just that more trials are necessary to establish the proof scientifically.

  2. Diseases, symptoms and conditions reporting some therapeutic effects for which acupuncture is worth trying (nine conditions).

  3. Diseases, symptoms and conditions in which acupuncture may be tried, provided the practitioner has special modern medical knowledge and adequate monitoring equipment (eight conditions).
Due to space limitations, if you would like a copy of the diseases in the three other categories, contact me via email with your request.

Facial Rejuvenation

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture technique is a non-surgical method to reduce the signs of the aging process and to help the face look younger. Based on the principles of Oriental Medicine, hair-thin needles are inserted into particular areas of the face and body along channels of energy. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture works by increasing collagen production and circulation to the face, and relieving tension in facial muscles. Acupuncture can diminish the appearance of lines and even the tone of facial coloring, leading to a younger and healthier appearance. With acupuncture facial rejuvenation you can look and feel 10-15 years younger.

Benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture:

Acute and Chronic Pain

Research and clinical evidence have shown that acupuncture and integrative medicine can safely and effectively treat a wide array of pain and musculoskeletal conditions. There are several ways that acupuncture is able to relieve pain and promote healing.  First, it speeds the healing process by increasing collateral blood circulation.  When used with herbal formulas, it has been shown to relieve pain and promote healing by reducing inflammation and edema and relaxing skeletal muscles.  Herbal formulas and plasters are renowned for their ability to speed healing and heal bone fractures, bruises, and torn ligaments quickly. Finally, biomedical studies have shown that acupuncture reduces pain by stimulating the secretions of endorphins (the body’s own pain-killers) and neurotransmitters such as seratonin and noradrenaline. It can even be used to stop lactation. Call for a free consultation or check the articles section for further information about post-natal acupuncture. TOP

Natural labor Induction with Acupuncture

Using acupuncture to induce labor is an ancient tradition. Acupuncture needles are inserted into strategic locations on the hands, lower legs, and feet. The needles create a stimulation in the body which aligns the mother’s energy and gently urges her body to begin labor. Unlike Pitocin which forces the start of labor and has many side effects, acupuncture-induced labor is rarely expected to start right away but usually happens within 24 hours to three days of regular treatment. Using acupuncture to induce labor does not push you through the experience prematurely or too quickly. Acupuncture balances you and prepares you for the passage.

The Induction treatment

Typically a patient who is interested in inducing labor with acupuncture will begin seeing an acupuncturist somewhere during the seventh month of pregnancy to help her prepare her body for labor. Ideally an appointment once a week or once every two weeks will give your acupuncturist the time needed to become familiar with your body and constitution and for you to start feeling the benefits of regular acupuncture treatments. Labor induction starts just prior to or right after the due date. Treatments are scheduled twice a day for up to three days.
